Andrew “Drew” Damron began working at WEMM in May of 2005. At that time, he was working as a cashier for a local pharmacy when a WEMM Account Executive selling advertising approached his uncle Danny. His uncle told her about an announcer search contest Drew had recently been in. With that WEMM informed his uncle that there was an announcer position open at the station. After much waiting, Drew applied for the position and was hired. With the Lord’s hand evident on Drew’s employment with WEMM, he now hosts three programs, including The Turn, Grassroots Gospel Friday Nights, and Tri-State Today.
Drew’s father Terry is an electrician at AEP, while his mother Carol serves as administrative assistant for the Wayne County Economic Development Authority. Drew grew up in church but never really heard the Word until he was about 12 years old. A rambunctious child, Drew heard the Word of God at a Vacation Bible School. A year later, full of guilt, he knelt beside his bed and asked the Lord Jesus to come into his heart. Drew most enjoys the Christian love shared by the faithful listeners of WEMM, and the Christ-like fellowship with his co-workers.
