Dear
Heavenly Father,
Our deepest desire is for repentance in this
nation. We have sinned against you by turning to our own ways. We
permit the scourge of pornography, drugs, murder of the unborn,
Satan worship, deny prayer in our public schools and place our
confidence in our own strength, rather than yours. Forgive us, we
pray, of our sins and cleanse our hearts and our land of
wickedness.
We pray for the protection of Israel and for the peace of
Jerusalem.
For our own nation, we plead with you to stay your hand of
judgment. You have spared this nation time and time again in your
mercy. Thank you. Please, Abba Father, motivate our hearts to give
corresponding actions of obedience to our words of adoration and
praise to you. By thy Spirit, and through us, bring the lost of
this nation to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Should we, as a nation, not repent and you permit our enemies to
overtake and destroy us, please know, our Father, that we still
love and trust you. For those of us who become persecuted in our
faith, we ask that your Holy Spirit will give us the strength to
be faithful unto death. Help us to pray for our enemies and to
show them your love. For our soldiers, we pray that you will be
their shield of protection. Use this time of service to America as an opportunity to win the
lost of those ranks to Christ. We pray for our enemies asking that
you will reveal yourself to them, that they may know Jesus as
their Redeemer.
Give protection and wisdom, we pray, to our President and leaders.
We want to be a Holy Nation. Please remove the famine of thy Word
from this land, that we may minister it to other lands.
Thank you for hearing and answering our prayer. You are precious
to us.
We pray in the name of Jesus, with Thanksgiving, Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father,
In this time of national
tragedy, we
turn our hearts and thoughts toward You. Thank You for the
security and purpose that You provide in the face of events that
seem to be so lacking in purpose.
We pray for the victims of terrible tragedy. Please
comfort their hearts and heal their wounds, physical, emotional,
and spiritual. Comfort those who grieve over the loss of friends
and loved ones. We pray, Father, that they will seek Your face in
their hour of such unspeakable loss.
We pray for our leaders, especially for President Bush and his
advisors. Grant them wisdom as they lead our nation in a proper
response. We are reminded that rulers are to be a
terror to evil doers. (Romans 13:3) Give our leaders the resolve
and wisdom to bring the perpetrators of crime to swift and
sure justice.
We pray for all who minister to the victims. Give
them strength and wisdom. Sustain them by Your grace as they
experience great stress and hardship.
And finally Father, we pray for the citizens of this great,
beloved nation. We acknowledge that we have turned from Your ways
and are in great need of revival. Grant that this crisis will prompt each
person to search his or her heart. We remember that "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."
(Proverbs 14:34) We pray that, as a result of this incredible
tragedy, many will turn to Jesus Christ for salvation.
We pray in Jesus name, Amen.
